Sunshine in Toronto
Uneventful flight to Toronto yesterday. Globe & Mail mildly interesting but virtually no international news, as usual. The pipeline from the Athabasca Tar Sands in receiving finance in spite of the environmental impact and the need to cross the territories of over 50 First Nation tribes. Not an initiative I'd be prepared to invest in. The government appears to be in the pockets of big oil

Vancouver weather
I am in Vancouver for two weeks. So far the emphasis has been on rain, which is forecast to last for another three days. Nevertheless Vancouver is as lovely as ever even when grey and over cast.

That first one elicited loads of comment - I don't think! I wonder whether my English is too correct? Judging by some of the others that could be the reason.
What about Sir John Crosbie then? Failure should result in banishment from any other government employment. That would thin out the Quangos and leave room for the rest of us who know what is really required.
